John DePriest is a linguist, musician, and educator based in Bʋlbancha. He teaches in the Center for Global Education and the Native American & Indigenous Studies program at Tulane University. He leads the band Bogue Chitto as a songwriter and banjo player and recently released his first solo album of Choctaw music called 'Taloa Haklo'. He is passionate about indigenous language usage and revitalization, especially the Choctaw language, which he has recently started teaching at Tulane.
